How far are we willing to go to join the European club? When are we integrated ‘enough’? Is it when we speak the language or rather when our children are born on European soil? Or are we integrated when we betray our own cultural norms and customs? These questions are universal to the millions trying to achieve the European dream – ‘forget who you were and assimilate’. Why do we seek to become more European than the Europeans?
