It has come to light that systemic power relations inequities are a serious issue for both Music Higher Music Education Institutions (HEIs) and the music business and creative industry sector. Addressing these issues is an important first step, so that we can work on them in a way that promotes meaningful change. By asking the following questions, this session will look for ways to re-balance power in Music HEI's, collectives and institutions.

• What do we understand power relations to be in Music HE and in music business and creative industry contexts?
• How do these power relations influence the learning and working environment in our sector?
• How can stakeholders properly address issues of power relations in their daily interactions, so that all members of our community may enjoy a safe and supportive learning and working environment?
