“I came here a stranger” – these words introduce us to Schubert’s Winterreise. Fremd Bin Ich Eingezogen by Asambura opens up new perspectives on his work, re-imagining the music and words in dialogue with Persian poems, self-composed avant-garde and elements from other cultural spaces. The protagonist’s thoughts are also still current in our modern, pluralistic society today: the search for local and cultural belonging and the desire for ‘home’ is something we all have in common.
