Music on Main

Music on Main is Vancouver’s “highly popular series that’s as musically adventurous as it is socially gregarious” (The Georgia Straight).

Artistic Director David Pay created the series with a promise of great music in casual but stimulating environments, with top-flight musicians, an ear for contemporary music, and refreshing concert formats. Since 2006, we’ve produced nearly 300 classical, new, and genre-bending events featuring more than 800 musicians and over 60 world premieres.

You can think of Music on Main as storytellers for a post-classical age. The company produces a celebrated series and the annual Modulus Festival, hosts a Composer In Residence, and continues to create pioneering new programmes that connect audiences and artists. In November 2017, Music on Main co-hosts the ISCM World New Music Days 2017.
