MORPHOSIS DUO comprises of Joan Martí-Frasquier (baritone saxophone) and Joan Bagés i Rubí (electronics). After a debut concert for the Current Catalan Composers Association in Barcelona in October 2016, they presented SCRATCH at New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival 2017 in an acclaimed 50-minute non-stop performance.
MORPHOSIS DUO represents the simplest Morphosis Ensemble format, a flexible collective engaged in the dissemination of electroacoustic music, a genre representing a step forward in the (r)evolution of music of the 20th-21st centuries. The ensemble aims to promote this repertoire with composers, sound artists and performers involved in the exploration of new languages and sonorities.
The collaboration between Joans goes beyond Morphosis Duo or Ensemble. Joan Bagés i Rubí previously participated in the recording and processing of electronics for Joan Martí-Frasquier’s album MADE IN BCN (La Mà de Guido, 2018 – LMG2154).
