French Association of Orchestras (AFO)
AFO is a non-profit making organisation, created in 2000. It is an observatory, resource centre and mouthpiece for french and foreign orchestras.
AFO has 43 members, including both public and private orchestras as for example non-profit making organisations, state-owned orchestras and city cultural departments.
The organization represents all the permanent orchestras in France and works in partnership with “Les Forces Musicales”, the employers union for orchestras and operas.
AFO is a member of Culture Action Europe and of the national platform for music networks “Accord Majeur”. It joined PEARLE* in 2005. It also initiated the European Orchestras Forum the same year.
